|Carl from Bellevue, WA reviewed South Beach Smoke model 'Deluxe Kit' on April 13 2012:|
OverallThis will be the first of two reviews I intend to give this product. This is my initial impression having my SBS for just 3 days now. Later on I'll submit a review with my long term assessment. So far, so good! I tried Blu cig and V-2 cig disposables before and the SBS is certainly superior to their disposables. However, it took much research and deliberation but I finally chose SBS over those two because of the reviews, pricing and warranty. First off, I didn't just order the kit but I ordered the personal charging case and an extra standard battery. I ordered the extra battery and case because I expected to have an issue with the battery not lasting all day but that hasn't been the case. Both the battery and one deluxe cartridge last me about one day. However, I did expect the cartridges to last a little longer. Even still, I'm only spending about $2/day where I was spending $6/day smoking real cigs. All my batteries and charging case seem to be working well and hold a charge. The only design flaw I see in the product is the charging case doesn't have space for a spare battery which has you toting one around in your pocket. I ordered mine with menthol which is quite good compared to Blu cigs menthol. V-2's menthol was good but left an aftertaste in my mouth. Neither Blu cigs nor V-2 produced as thick a vapor. Speaking of vapor, I ran into a problem smoking e-cigs. I found the vapor from all of them, especially SBS's thick vapor, irritated my throat and lungs. Since I read that vapor nicotine is absorbed better in the oral and nasal mucosa while nicotine from a real cig is absorbed better in the lungs, I started not inhaling at all and just take the vapor in my mouth and blow it out my nose. This works quite well to get my nicotine fix and is an even better way to enjoy the taste, smell and flavor of the vape. Works for me. I also think their website could be more complete with more info. However, customer service is great! So far, so good!
Value vs. Cost

I have been smoking blu ecigs for three weeks now and while they have a good flavor and work well as a substitute for the real thing, they irritate my mouth as if I have been eating or drinking something very acidic. If I drink too much orange juice or take too many vitamin C tablets the same thing happens...canker sores, sensitive gums etc. THEN....I noticed that the liquid that creates the vapor has ASCORBIC ACID. All I can figure is this is what's causing the irritation for most people.
